Political Waltz
The world is turning. Rome is burning. We dance a political waltz.
The girl on the side sat down and cried and counted up all of
my faults.
I count the times I sit making rhymes and never get any results.

I think that most folks don’t mind waiting
I’ve already stood in line my share.

Recognize the answer when it’s there.

The girl that I stay with and frequently lay with – I love her
with all of my heart.
She came to me and soon I could see that it’s easy to make a new
start.
The way things are going the progress I’m showing, when usually
I’m falling apart.
And what I like best, she gives me my rest. She’s not only pretty
but smart.

You can’t go through life anticipating.

Outside it’s snowing. The cold winds are blowing. The streets
are as slick as can be.
My girlfriend is gone. I’m all alone watching a little TV.
The man on the news keeps singing the blues, but that doesn’t
matter to me.
Crime in the city - It seems such a pity, when life in the country
is free.
