Big
Five Oh
Now that I’m looking at the big five oh
I look back at my youth and wonder where did it go.
But I can’t say I’m sorry about the things that I did.
I have a beautiful wife and some wonderful kids.
That old clock up on the wall, it just keeps ticking off the
days
I keep thinking that someday I’ll have some time.
And the doctor keeps on telling me I’d better change my ways.
But I’ve got all these friends, and I feel fine.
I’d like to say I’m proud of how I spent the years
Working hard drying all my loved ones tears,
But far too many people here know me way too well
And everyone knows a liar goes to hell.
That old clock up on the wall, it just keeps spinning off the
days
I keep thinking that someday I’ll have some time.
And the doctor he keeps telling me I’d better change my ways.
But I’ve got all these fish, here on my line.
Drink a couple beers and tell a couple good jokes
Makes a pretty good party for a few fine folks
All in all I’d say my life has gone real well.
Only bad thing is I feel old as hell.
That old clock up on the wall, it just keeps grinding off the
days
I keep thinking that someday I’ll have some time.
And the preacher, he’s been telling me I’d better change my ways.
‘Cause I’ve got all these sins, but I feel fine. Yes I feel fine.
